We aim to provide students with an education that is suited to their individual needs while blending this with functional life skills education. Independence and communication continue to be a priority and are balanced within the curriculum goals.
Students are assessed individually; the teacher then develops focus goals for the semester within their individual education plan (IEP). Abilities Based Learning Education, ABLE WA, within the Australian Curriculum is used for student learning along with parent and therapy goals where appropriate for the school environment.
ESP classes access our Community Access Program (CAP) with parent permission. Destinations range from within the school’s boundary and extending to the broader community as students progress through each skill. Skills include safe road skills, following staff direction and requests, through to functional curriculum-based skills.
